          Lalit Mansingh (born 29 April 1941) is a former Indian diplomat.

          Early life and education

          Mansingh was born and brought up in Odisha as the middle son of Odia poet Mayadhar Mansingh.

          He was born at Nandala, Ramalenka Grampanchayat, in Puri district of Odisha. He graduated with a master's degree in Political Science receiving a gold medal for being top of the class.
